Communiqué Minister of the Interior and the Attorney General

Badran Shaaban Ahmed a thirty years old man from a village far from the cities of Fayoum governorate near the desert called Qasr El Basel. He was a coordinator in one of the NGOs for the integrated environment project. On 10/6/2007, his family never heard from him after the his telephone conversation with them telling them that he will return at night.
His brother says, "We looked in all police stations and hospitals, we have presented many complaints and filed many reports to know his location and the latest communiqué was by the Land Center to the Attorney General No. 10983 in 30/6/2007, but whereabouts was uncovered. Before his disappearance he was on a date with the family of his fiancée to determine the date of marriage.

Is there any respect for human rights really? How can a citizen be kidnapped or disappear without any reasons? Why did he disappear? Did he violate the law? How? Does his family have the right to know where he is and help him or even see him?

Are there provisions in the law, the Constitution and covenants that protect citizens of kidnappings and disappearances? Aren't these laws to ensure citizen's right to safety and security and impose the government to search for him and disclosure of place? Badran's family are wondering .... Why did he disappear and where is he now? Is it because he was working in the area of development? Or because he was visiting the Land Center? Did the village lose her valiant and beautiful young man who was filled with love and joy forever?

Many questions still remain unanswered about Badran Shaaban Ahmed. Can the Minister of the Interior or the Attorney General reveal to us his whereabouts and the reason of his disappearance? Over two months now and still no sign of Badran. These are question we hope to receive  answers to.
